The name ETX generically covers the group of processor modules which allow simplified customisation of embedded solutions.

There are currently three types of ETX module, the original ETX - and two developments of the ETX standard - XTX and COMExpress.

ETX is a small processor board measuring just 114mm by 95mm. These are fully functional processor modules which require a carrier board giving access to the Keyboard, VGA and power for a minimal system. ETX modules also have serial, parallel, USB, IDE, PCI, ISA and Mouse interfaces which can be added to the design of your own carrier board.

Another advantage of the ETX/XTX/COMExpress is that off the shelf carrier boards are readily available from us. This means that you have the advantage of being able to commence software development ahead of hardware development if necessary.
