What is a Box PC?

Box PC is a small form factor system with an Embedded CPU board offering multi functionality with limited expansion capabilities. It is ideally suited for use in remote applications (Wind Turbines, Car Park control, etc..) where a small, reasonably powerful computer system is required.

• The Eltech Box PC systems utilise Low Power dissipation Processor chips generally with Ethernet, COMs, USB, VGA and Disk support and would normally run from a DC power source. Using low heat processors results in some systems being able to operate without a fan thus increasing reliability.

   

• Due to the anticipated nature of the application, the systems will normally offer both Hard Disk or CompactFlash storage for application software.

   

• Systems can be expanded by the addition of PCI boards, MiniPCI boards or PCMCIA modules depending on which system is selected for use.

Customers can choose the Box PC that best suits their requirements and then specify additional items such as DRAM size, Disk size and Operating software, which Eltech can configure prior to delivery.
